Take Prostate Cancer to the Limit With Movie Screening

It seems its all about bikes for me lately. With Movember coming up, the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride isn't the only moto-related prostate cancer fundraiser.

Hal’s Harley-Davidson is proud to support the Movember movement and changing the face of men’s health. They’re going to kick-off Movember a few weeks early by bringing in a special guest, Peter Starr, to share his story with you while raising funds for Prostate Cancer Education on Thursday, October 9th at 6pm.

Peter Starr is an internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning filmmaker, former top radio disc jockey, movie stunt performer, motorcycle racer and author. Starr’s most recent true-life story, born out of the initial fear of death following a diagnosis of prostate cancer, has become an inspirational platform for all men faced with the significant challenge of making a major treatment choice for the most prolific of male cancers.

Hal's invites men to join them for a laid back night beginning at 6pm that includes a viewing of Peter’s iconic motorcycle movie “Take It To The Limit”, snacks, beverages, and a question and answer session led by Mr. Starr. Tickets are $10 with all proceeds benefiting Prostate Cancer Education.

To register or for more information please call (262) 814-8684 or email carrie.schmidt@halshd.com.

City Lights Cans Water. Why its better than bottles.

You may have seen the new trend for packaged water with brands like Liquid Death. Now a local brewery, City Lights Brewery , is getting in on the act. Except its not just an act, its not some fad, there are reasons to can vs. bottle water. Good reasons.

Make Men's Health Month About You

The month of November is (one of the) Men's Health Month(s), popularized by the Movember movement. (June is another recognized annual event but since it is November now, November it is.) It's a great foundation, it has been successful and is highly rated for its impact. But, one thing I see with the movement is that while they speak about men's health to the participants, I feel the participants themselves promote it outwardly rather than inward, at them. I personally fell victim to that selfsame issue, but no longer. As of this November, I am taking care of myself.
